A Sampling of Activities and Events for Residents to Enjoy
Bark in the Park, Canine Capers
Fido and Spot are BEGGING to go out and play with their fluffy friends that they met last month. Meet me and the ladies from Paw Prints Bakery in Garden Party Park. We will have a silly pet tricks competition, so practice up. Remember that your pooch may not think it’s funny to wear a ballerina costume so don’t do anything that is dangerous or makes them uncomfortable. As always, snacks and water will be provided.
Connerton Cove “Pirate Party” Grand Opening
Put on you eye patches and grab your peg legs….we are going to celebrate the grand opening of the Con-nerton Cove. The community came together and worked extremely hard to complete this massive task for the Connerton children, so we are going to celebrate with a Pirate Party. All children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite pirate and join us for some high seas adventures. We will be cutting the ribbon on the Connerton Cove at 3pm, followed by a picnic with music and games.
Teen Quest School’s Out Party
Hey Teens, School’s Out For Summer! Come hang out with your friends to celebrate the beginning of your summer vacation. We will have pizza, soda and snacks for you to munch on while you hang out in Conner-ton Cove and watch a movie on the big screen! Parents, please be aware that we will be showing a PG-13 Rated movie this night. Please e-mail the Activities Director with movie suggestions and be sure to RSVP.
Connerton Idol Party, Connerton New Neighbors
Get your singing voice tuned up and ready to go! We will have our very own Connerton Idol Party on Sun-day June 8th in Garden Party Park. Gather your friends and family and invite them to join you for a fun evening of music, karaoke, activities for young children including a bouncy house and dinner is on us from Wecks Deli. Come learn how you can win a Cruise by participating in our “Connerton New Neighbors” resident referral program! Please RSVP with the Activities Director.
Back To School Kids Fear Factor
It’s Back! Since everyone had so much fun at last years Back To School Fear Factor Challenge, let’s do it again. Meet us in Garden Party Park for a fun-filled Fear Factor Challenge. Kids from ages 5-17 will com-pete in a variety of really gross but fun activities. Will you chow down on a pigs foot, dive into a bucket of worms to find a key OR take on our obstacle course? Ask yourself this question: Is fear a factor with you? If the answer is NO WAY...then sign up today by contacting the Activities Director. Please wear a swim suit under your clothes as our obstacle course will involve water!
Hometown Harvest
The brisk (not super hot) autumn days are right around the corner and we are going to celebrate with a Hometown Harvest. This event will take place in Garden Party Park and will be complete with a carnival, pumpkin patch, games and crafts. We will have contests for best costume, best decorated jack-o-lantern and many prizes at all the different harvest games. We are inviting the entire area so bring your friends and family!
Connerton Spelling Bee
Homework every night, tests all week, assignments due…...will it ever end? Not for the children of Conner-ton! These kids love to learn and we have a perfect event to see who has been listening to the teacher and who has been day dreaming out the window. We have teamed up with Huntington Learning Center in Ar-bor Square for the first-ever Connerton Spelling Bee. Representatives from Huntington Learning Center will administer the event and have supplied some great prizes. We will have three age groups: 8-11, 12-14 & 15-17. 1st place in each age group will receive a trophy and an IPod Shuffle. 2nd place will receive a $25 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble. Please Contact the Activities Director for more information.
Wine and Cheese Happy Hour
You know what they say… “If it’s not broke, then don’t fix it.” Or in our case, “If you enjoy a glass of wine, then join us for a relaxing evening in Magnolia Park.” Our happy hours have been so successful that we HAVE to do it again! Once again, we will provide the wine, snacks, and music. All you need to bring is yourself. RSVP with the Activities Director. You must be of legal drinking age to attend this event.
