For old Florida charm visit historic downtown Dade City and downtown New Port Richey’s scenic Cotee River. Then, of course, there’s the USA Flea Market in Hudson, an indoor/outdoor market extraordinaire that offers everything from antiques to fresh produce.

Pasco County is located on the Gulf of Mexico in the Tampa Bay area, and the county is part of a region nicknamed, the “Nature Coast.” It’s a bird watching paradise — boasting ten stops along the Great Florida Birding Trail, which was created by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission – and more than 325 species of birds.

For hikers and bikers, Pasco County features a number of preserves that showcase nature at its finest. The Green Swamp West Trail offers more than 60 miles of marked trails and some of the best remote wilderness exploration in the area. There’s also Withlacoochee State Trail, Green Swamp West Trails, Serenova Tract, Starkey Trail and Suncoast Trail. With more than 30 parks from which to choose, offering everything from beaches to trails, fishing, sports fields, picnic areas, swimming, camping, train rides, dog and skate parks, Pasco County is a park lover’s paradise.

Let’s not forget all the things that make Pasco unique including “Swim with a Tiger” at the zoo, a giraffe ranch, kumquat groves, skydiving, wineries, a casino and a 525-acre sanctuary with crystal clear springs.
