Third Annual Connerton Challenge Proceeds Benefit Tampa’s Operation Helping Hand and Produces Impressive, Fun Results

LAND O’LAKES, Fla. (Nov. 8, 2016) − Whether running for fun or seriously competing in sanctioned USA Track & Field (USATF) events, the third annual Connerton Challenge 10K, 5K and Kids’ Fun Run held on Saturday, Nov. 5 produced impressive results both on and off the course.

100 participants started the race from Club Connerton, the community’s centerpiece, and followed the course throughout this beautiful, master-planned community where nature and conservation abound.

The certified USATF course was perfect for runners to record their times and establish a personal best. For others, the event was ideal for a fun run to challenge their distance ability or just exercise in the brisk, fall weather.

All runners received Connerton Challenge race medals and t-shirts, and top finishers in all age groups received trophies. All 10K and 5K runners were entered into a raffle for prizes, gift certificates, electronics and more.

Top finishers included:

For the third year, Operation Helping Hand, the event’s beneficiary, received a $1,000 donation from Connerton. Operation Helping Hand is a project of the Tampa Chapter of Military Officers Association of America.
